The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District, in partnership with the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association, received $25,000 in Handshake Partnership funds from the Corps’ national headquarters for phase two of construction on the Paynes Creek Multi-Purpose Trail, located on the Hartwell Dam and Lake Project in Hartwell, Ga.

New Mountain biking trail at Paynes Creek Campground
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hartwell Lake Office and the International Biking Association/Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association have received $25,000 to build a multipurpose trail in the campground area, according to a statement.

COE to build mountain bike trail at Paynes Creek
The Hartwell Project received a $25,000 grant to install a multi-purpose trail in the Paynes Creek Campground area that will enhance mountain biking and recreational activities on the upper portion of Hartwell Lake and increase opportunities for bank fishing, hiking, and bird watching.
